Garden City Beach is the Grand Strand's anchor family-condo stretch — three miles of oceanfront on the southern end, unincorporated and in Horry County, sitting between Surfside Beach to the north and the Murrells Inlet jetty to the south. The 690-foot oceanfront Garden City Pier sits at the spine of the town: rebuilt and reopened in 2024 after the November 2022 fire that destroyed the original 1948-era pier, the new pier kept the same shape and added the rebuilt Sand Dollar bar deck and the kid-classic arcade. Sam's Corner's hot-dog-and-soft-serve walk-up still sits at the foot of the pier, exactly as it has since the late 1940s.

Most of our Garden City Beach rentals sit in the working oceanfront condo towers between the pier and the Murrells Inlet line — Waters Edge Resort (the dominant complex with the Rising Tides Beach Bar, the Sunny Beach Café, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, and fitness center), the smaller Duneside III at the north pier line, and the condos on the Inlet Pointe peninsula. The Murrells Inlet MarshWalk's eight seafood houses and live-music decks are five minutes south on US-17 Business; Wild Water & Wheels family park is a mile inland on Surfside Drive; Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park sit ten minutes south on US-17.
