Snowshoe sits on Cheat Mountain in Pocahontas County, four hours from Washington D.C. and three from Pittsburgh down US-219. The resort is built upside-down: the Village, the Soaring Eagle Lodge, and the bulk of the slopeside condos sit at the 4,848-foot Thorny Flat summit, and skiers descend to the Ballhooter Express base. Three terrain areas share a single ticket — Snowshoe Basin (the main 35-trail face fed by Ballhooter and Powder Monkey), the steep Western Territory off the Cup Run lift (1,500 vertical feet, the only true expert pitch east of West Virginia's continental divide), and Silver Creek (a separate family-and-night-skiing area with its own base village). The Snowshoe Bike Park runs the same lifts in summer with 40+ downhill trails.

Our rentals stretch across the three Village condo blocks at the summit — Allegheny Springs at the front of the Village, Rimfire and Expedition Station along Top of the World Drive, Highland House overlooking the Big Top main square, and the slopeside Black Bear Crossing townhomes off Whistlepunk. Larger groups land in the 4–7 bedroom Black Bear and Seneca homes with private hot tubs and ski-in/ski-out walks to the Ballhooter base. Most rentals include shuttle access to the Western Territory transfer point and Silver Creek shuttle stop.
