The middle and largest of Anna Maria Island's three cities — Manatee Public Beach anchors the Gulf side at Manatee Avenue, the 73rd Street pier and shared kayak launches sit on the bay, the Holmes Beach Skate Park and the Hampton-grid residential streets fill the interior, and the free Anna Maria Island Trolley runs Gulf Drive end-to-end every 20 minutes connecting the city to Anna Maria's pier and Bradenton Beach's Bridge Street.
Holmes Beach sits in the middle of Anna Maria Island — Manatee Avenue (State Road 64) crosses the Anna Maria Island Bridge from Bradenton straight into the city, depositing you at the foot of Manatee Public Beach with its 1953-era pavilion, free parking, and the lifeguarded swim zone. Gulf Drive runs Holmes Beach's Gulf side north-south past the Marina Drive turn-off; East Bay Drive runs the bay side with the Key Royale single-bridge causeway crossing into the gated Key Royale neighborhood. The Holmes Beach Skate Park, the Hampton-grid residential streets, and most of the island's grocery and outfitter inventory (Publix at Manatee Plaza, the Sandbar Restaurant, the Sun House gallery, and the Beach to Bay Cycle bike shop) all sit within Holmes Beach city limits.
Our Holmes Beach rentals are specifically inside the city — Gulf-side condos at Waters Edge, Sunbow Bay, and West Bay Cove on the Marina Drive bay corridor; Gulf-front cottages on the 73rd, 74th, and 75th Street walking-grid; canal-front pool homes in Key Royale with private docks; and walking-distance-to-Manatee-Public-Beach two- and three-bedroom homes throughout the central grid. For broader Anna Maria Island inventory (the north-end Anna Maria pier strip and the south-end Bradenton Beach historic district) browse our separate Anna Maria Island microsite. Sarasota–Bradenton International (SRQ) is 25 minutes east and the closest non-stop airport.
