A Central Oregon high-desert microsite

Welcome to BendCentral Oregon's basecamp where the Deschutes River runs through downtown — Mt. Bachelor 22 miles west, the Old Mill District and 19-mile river trail downtown, the Bend Ale Trail's 20-plus breweries, and the Cascade Lakes Highway's chain of alpine lakes.

Bend sits on the high-desert eastern slope of the Cascades at 3,623 feet, the 100,000-resident city wrapped around the Deschutes River and looking west across the Three Sisters and Broken Top to Mt. Bachelor (22 miles, 3,365-foot vertical, 4,323 skiable acres, the sixth-largest ski area in the U.S.). Drake Park and the Mirror Pond reach of the river anchor a five-block walkable downtown of breweries, the 1936 Pine Tavern, and the Tower Theatre; the Old Mill District's three Brooks-Scanlon mill stacks anchor a south-side reach of the 19-mile Deschutes River Trail with the Riverhouse on the Deschutes, the REI flagship, and the Les Schwab Amphitheater outdoor concert venue. The Bend Ale Trail's 20-plus breweries (Deschutes Brewery & Public House on Bond Street, Crux Fermentation Project on Empire Avenue, Boneyard Beer's tasting room on NE Lake Place, Worthy Brewing on NE 27th, Bend Brewing Company on NW Brooks, 10 Barrel's two pubs) is the densest small-city brewery scene in the Pacific Northwest. Smith Rock State Park's 800-foot welded-tuff cliffs are 25 miles north on US-97; Tumalo Falls' 97-foot drop is 14 miles west on Skyliners Road; and Newberry National Volcanic Monument's Lava Lands Visitor Center is 12 miles south.

Our Bend inventory leans neighborhood pool-and-hot-tub homes in NorthWest Crossing (the new-construction craftsman district off Skyliners Road, walkable to Compass Park and the Bend Whitewater Park), the Awbrey Glen and Awbrey Butte residential areas in the northwest with mountain views, condo and townhome inventory at Mt. Bachelor Village (River Ridge complex on the Deschutes River, ski-shuttle access), Tetherow's resort homes on the south side with Mt. Bachelor views, and a small set of downtown lofts within walking distance of Drake Park, the Tower Theatre, and the Pine Tavern. Roberts Field (RDM) in Redmond is the closest commercial airport — 16 miles north, 25 minutes — with non-stops on Alaska, American, Delta, and United to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles. Most rentals enforce 2-night minimums; ski-season weekends (December–March) and summer holiday weekends (July 4 and Labor Day) often run 3-night minimums.
