A 22,000-population Hi-Desert town between Joshua Tree National Park's Black Rock Canyon western entrance and Pioneertown's 1946 movie set — the Sky Village Swap Meet on weekends, the Hi-Desert Nature Museum, and the deepest pool-friendly desert-modern rental inventory in the Joshua Tree corridor.
Yucca Valley sits at 3,300 feet on California Route 62 — five miles west of Joshua Tree town, 10 minutes south of Pioneertown, and the location of Black Rock Canyon, the only paved entrance to Joshua Tree National Park's western edge. The town anchors the Hi-Desert with Stater Bros and Vons grocery stores, the Sky Village Outdoor Marketplace (a Saturday-Sunday vintage-and-antique swap meet on Highway 62), the Hi-Desert Nature Museum, and the original Cactus Mart wholesale-cactus garden that supplied half the desert-landscape cacti in Southern California.
Our rentals here lean toward larger 3-to-5-bedroom desert-modern homes on 2-to-10-acre parcels — the Hi-Desert pool culture is a Yucca Valley specialty, with private pools more common here than in Joshua Tree town proper. Most include hot tubs, fire pits, fenced yards, and panoramic Mojave horizons. The Sky Village Swap Meet weekend (every Saturday and Sunday year-round) is a working-base ritual for design-eye visitors.
