A seven-mile barrier island called Estero, twenty-five minutes from Southwest Florida International (RSW) — the rebuilt Fort Myers Beach Pier reaches into the Gulf at the foot of Times Square, Lynn Hall Memorial Park anchors the downtown beach, Lovers Key State Park's tarpon flats start at the south end of the bridge, and Bowditch Point Park sits at the north tip looking across Matanzas Pass to Sanibel.
Estero Island is one of the longer south-Florida barriers — seven Gulf-facing miles between Big Carlos Pass at the south and Matanzas Pass at the north, anchored by the Times Square pedestrian district at the foot of the rebuilt Fort Myers Beach Pier. Hurricane Ian came ashore here on September 28, 2022, and reshaped the island; the recovery has been steady and visible — the pier reopened in spring 2024, Lynn Hall Memorial Park's bath-house and dune walks are restored, and most of the beachfront condo towers have rebuilt to higher Ian-era flood standards. Lovers Key State Park at the south end of the Estero Boulevard bridge stayed open through the storm and remains one of the best tarpon-flat fisheries on the Florida Gulf coast.
Our rentals run from beachfront condos at Estero Beach Club, Beach Villas, and Sandarac on the central strand, to multi-bedroom homes on the canal-front bay side, top-floor Gulf-view units inside the rebuilt Diamondhead and Pink Shell properties, and a handful of stilted single-family beach houses on the quieter Bonita Beach Road end. Southwest Florida International (RSW) is twenty-five minutes east — most weekly renters fly into Tampa or RSW and connect to the island by car.
