Property Protection

The RedAwning Protection Program™ covers repair or replacement costs for physical loss or damage to your personal property (contents) caused by a renter, up to a $5,000 limit, with a minimum claim of $100 and a maximum of $2,500 per item. For renter-caused damage to real property (buildings), protection extends up to $500,000, subject to a $500 deductible.

What's Not Covered

Land, water, air, electronic data, animals, motor vehicles, aircraft, watercraft (and their parts/equipment); renter's property; credit/debit cards, bank notes, securities, firearms, precious metals, and business-related property (other than RedAwning vacation rentals). Losses from wear and tear, mechanical/electrical breakdown, war, terrorism, nuclear reaction, radioactive contamination, intentional/expected loss, neglect, criminal acts, government action, seepage, pollution, contamination, pathogenic/biological/chemical materials, or mold are also excluded.

Your Responsibilities as a Protected Owner

To ensure seamless claims processing, you must:

  • Promptly report events or circumstances that might lead to a claim (e.g. notices, summonses).
  • Provide names and addresses of claimants and witnesses.
  • Cooperate fully in its loss or claim investigations.
  • Notify police in case of theft.
  • Protect damaged property from further harm.
  • Document damages, repairs, and expenses with bills, receipts, and photographs.

The program is backed by an insurance policy with certain Lloyd's Underwriters via TERN Financial Group Inc., a Lloyd's Approved Coverholder.
