The place was perfect.
Wonderfull view and very close from stores.

The unit is nicely renovated, clean and spacious and in a GREAT location: a block away from a great supermarket; a few blocks from shops and restaurants; and Kihea, which is centrally located, is only about 35 minutes from Lahaina and 15 from Wilea.

The condo property is very well tended (i.e. lawn mowed, gardens manicured, and the pool and BBQ's are clean). The beach, which is only about 500 feet from the unit, is beautiful and quiet and you could see sea turtles swimming back and forth in the water and sunning on the beach.

The two things I disliked about this unit is the view of the side street (as on occasion there would be men who seemed homeless lying on the grass at the corner in view of the lanai), and the second bedroom only had an air purifier - not an A/C.

I think this unit is a good value and am glad we stayed.

we had a blast staying at the Condo, except for the 24hrs we did not have electricity, we had to buy candles and use them in the evening. we were told that we would receive a free night, and I did not get a clarification if it was for this trip or another? other than that the view was great, loved having my coffee on the balcony every morning. we would return to this exact same place. we loved the location. I want to say I would not recommend this place for fear it will always be booked.:) but seriously yes I would recommend this place.

Sofa and bathroom a bit dirty. Coffee maker appeared a bit unclean, cover warped but coffee maker functioned okay.

Numerous homeless folks hanging around the area causing disturbances on a daily basis. AC in unit only reached half the rooms

Was great...near to the Supermarket and the sea! Great condo with lots of space and all you need

Positives: Property was clean and close to the beach! Great property for the price and the view is fantastic. You're on Maui, it's awesome!
Negatives: Shuffleboard was advertised, yet there was no equipment on site to play. VERY prevalent homeless presence around property.

first time in maui and it was great. My only troubles were that they put a lock box for the key on the fly screen door and we thought it was the one to open instead of the second lock box behind and not really visible without opening fully the screen. alson in trouble with the TV and the cisco that had to swith on with tactil

Everything ran smooth from start to finish! We were excited to book back in August only to wait until February to travel to Maui. Communication was consistent and timely and additional technical support via the App was appreciated. We were very appreciative of the option to have food delivered for a fee that was made for a great morning after a long day of flying the day before. There were no concerns with the rental and things were very clearly laid out for us. We would go through Rental Maui again! The unit and location were perfect for our family to have a relaxing and fun filled 11 days. Only thing that would have had us use the pool more was that it was a bit more shallow for our youngest who was learning to swim and couldn't be in the pool completely alone. The access to the beach and the space for our kids to play was fantastic and the length of the beach made for great morning and evening walks. We wish there were more families with children staying in the complex, but anyone we met were extremely friendly and welcoming of our kids in a more mature setting. The grounds were well maintained and even though we had to experience homeless individuals in proximity to the grounds from time to time, we always felt safe and that those maintaining the property took great pride (even giving us some tips of how to deal with the homeless who would be inappropriate from time to time). It is definitely a place we plan to return to in a couple of years :)

Unit 201 Waiohulibeach Hale was exactly as advertised. The view was amazing and sunsets from our lanai. Loved the pool and the other amenities.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, there are a few issues that we had I feel others should be aware of.

1. There are no curtains in the unit. Yes, that's ZERO curtains. This means no privacy (a problem with beach access right outside your windows) and very early wake ups as the room is really bright.

2. The cleaning is not great on the unit - our feet turned black within 5 minutes of entering the unit. We also shook out about a cup of sand off the area rug - it looked like it had never been vacuumed.

3. Lack of essentials - tissues, paper towels, and table linens were all lacking and should be stocked.

Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay. The complex is quiet and well maintained and the view is gorgeous.

The location was very convenient and a plus for being so close to beach. It's not the nicest place or best part of town that I've stayed in Maui but it had everything we needed. The windows are thin so you can hear everything going on outside including neighbors. It needs a deep cleaning like baseboards, window seals, tiles and such. The floors had been swept but not mopped, they were filthy. No dishwasher so prepare to wash all by hand. All in all it sufficed my family of 3 for a few days.

We had a great time and the Condo was beautiful.

Great relaxing getaway

Lovely view of the ocean and vagrants. We woke-up in the morning just as the vigrants arrived and started looking in the hiding spots for the alcohol they hid the night before. I finally called the manager when the the vigrants were urinating in the back of the unit. The manager implored me to call the police . Which I did and it helped for one the eleven nights we spent in the unit. Did I mention ants and even coachroaches. The bedding was torn and soiled.

This was my first time renting a condo so I didn't know we needed a lock box code. After calling the rental company a couple times with no luck, the condo manager downstairs told us to try speaking to them in person. Their office was nearby and they helped us then. Other than that, it was smooth sailing from there. Condo view was spectacular. It felt like the condo was our house and the beach was our backyard. Condo was well stocked. Grocery store was short walking distance as well as urgent care, banks, gas stations and several restaurants. Especially St. Theresa catholic church. Basically, you could walk to many places with ease. We had a great stay and a very memorable vacation!

Condo and resort were great. View was amazing. Pool was great. Clean and beautiful. Centrally located to food and things to do.

We had a good experience I would just suggest to the owner to hang some kind of curtains in the bedrooms so little kids can nap better.

We were initially supposed to be staying in Hana though had to change plans abruptly due to recent storms. RentalsMaui accommodated us on short notice. The unit was clean and well appointment for cooking etc. The lack of air conditioning proved to be very warm indoors during the day and sometimes at night. Apparently the winds normally keep the Place cool but did not in our situation. We were pretty hot in there. Just FYI. The mini a/c's in the living and Bedroom did little in the way of cooling for us. All that aside. It was a great vacation and a nice place to stay. Kihie was a little too busy for us as well. Preferred the solitude of the beaches further south. A great central location for visiting other parts of the island though

Very nice condo in Kihei. Large, clean, comfortable and modernized with a view of the ocean and convenient to the beach. I like staying in Kihei because it's centralized to other places I go, although that comes with some city noise. The only recommendation I have for the owners is to provide light cancelling window treatments to shut out the outside lighting and to provide privacy shades on the doors to the lanai.

Looking forward to our stay in this unit next Feb.

This was our first visit to Maui and we had a great time! This rental was steps from the beach, the grounds were beautifully manicured and the location was very close to restaurants and shopping. Would love to return every year if possible :)

We were very comfortable in this unit. It's a great location with an unobstructed view of the beach. It's at the street end of the building but traffic noise was minimal. The unit was clean and well stocked. Ample seating on the lanai and good ceiling fans and floor unit AC. Pool is great for lap swimming (but not so much for kids.). Near all services/restaurants. Would stay here again if in Kihei.

This is an updated condo with a great location. We spent a lot of time by the pool and BBQ. It didn't have a dishwasher but everything else was great.

Hi-
The view from the condo is great view of the beach and ocean. This condo is up for sale so will not be around for long. The management company handled a water shut of situation poorly. We had no water for half a day during the day needed to shower to go to a wedding. We asked for a partial refund and didn't get a response.

I loved the unit I stayed in because it had the best view out of all the units. I could whale watch right off the balcony and enjoy the sunsets without going anywhere. The unit was very nicely appointed except for the fact that the furniture was in need of updating and the linens and pillows seemed very old. That was the only thing that I would say was a little disappointing. Also, I needed an extra blanket and there wasn't one so had to borrow one from a friend. A lot of money had been invested in the wood, granite and tile upgrades. It was a pity that a little more money spent on a newer couch, cushions, linens and pillows could have made it exceptional.

Overall it was great. I was disappointed that there was only one key to the pool. As a family of 4, another key would have been useful. I was very surprised of all the homeless that stayed right outside of our unit on the street. They did let loud at times and it was not a great experience. I understand the property cannot do anything about it, but it was still a disappointment.

The unit and location were okay. A few things could have been maintained better as the tubs an sinks drained very slowly and the dishes were in disrepair. It was the experience with the rental agency was the downer. They do not accept credit cards for the rental payment and it was inconvenient to send a US money order by snail mail from Canada. Also don't even try to call them on a Friday afternoon before 5PM because no one answers the phone. We were having difficulty getting into our suite. We left several messages for the after hours emergency line and never got a call back.

We had a wonderful stay at Waiohula Beach Hale #201. The place was squeaky clean when we got there and the recent interior remodel was obvious. When we arrived, promptly at check in time (3:00), the main toilet was in need of a new assembly. We called maintenance and were told that someone was already on his way to repair it. Within 1/2 hour it was up and running again. The refrigerator was nice and large, with two pull out freezer drawers, although it ran on the loud side. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the equipment we could want to make most meals. There were also some spices, food storage supplies and staples (possibly left by prior tenant, so I wouldn’t count on them being there in the future). The knife set, Henchel, is the best we have ever had in a rental condo! Nice beach towels, chairs and umbrellas were available for our use. We would have loved an ice chest, but bought an insulated bag for a few bucks and it worked fine. Our bed (guest br) was comfortable and offered feather like as well as firm pillows. Our only concern was the fact that a handful of homeless people have chosen the dunes in front of the condo and sometimes the field between the condo and beach as a hangout. There is a sign there prohibiting camping on the beach. They did not cause any problems so we did not report them, but I felt as though their presence was important to note. There was also a larger group (appx 10 people) about 1/2 mile north of the condo by the park.

The condo was very clean and comfortable. For some reason there are no curtains on the windows. There are flood lights outside the second bedrooms which makes this room really bright at night and with no curtains you cannot block the light out. There is also no dishwasher .

Long time renter at Waiohuli Beach Hale. Earliest visit was '92.
Kristin C. May 5, 2014
The condo is spacious and clean with all the amenities except a dishwasher (bummer!). The view to the ocean is wonderful and the cross breeze through the condo keeps it cool. The grills were perfect for making dinners.

The location was less than ideal - it's on a public access road to the beach where all the homeless like to congregate. We saw police activity just outside the condo on two occasions during our stay. The beach itself was pretty icky compared to Big Beach or some of the others just down the road. The pool was small and always full of kids (we don't have any).

Would not recommend due to the location.

Our first time in Maui and it couldn't have been more enjoyable. The condo we stayed at was great. It was clean, nicely furnished and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the ocean that we had from our room was amazing but we wouldn't hesitate to take another room with a view of the property courtyard as the gardens were beautiful as well. We look forward to returning!
