Como eu e meu filho focamos no surf e minha filha e esposa nas compras e passeios, da próxima vez vou procurar algo em Haleiwa: é mais central, com boas opções de restaurantes e comércio. Turtle Bay é deslocado, precisa andar muito de carro, 11 km para conseguir jantar fora. Em 15 dias andamos 2 mil milhas. Mas não pense que estas observações prejudicam o programa! O local é sensacional, Oahu é show, lindo mesmo, o tempo é agradável, a água é quente, e o astral é ótimo. Espetacular destino, entre os top 10 do mundo.
This is the third condo we have rented at Turtle Bay, and we would certainly rent this unit again.
The resident below was understandably frustrated at having vacationers staying above him and treated us as the cause of the problem, even after the plumber said it was a tree root clogging the main discharge pipe. Thankfully we had rented two units and were able to use the restroom/shower/laundry in 046 East during our stay...which didn't have any plumbing issues even with the extra usage. Overall it was a major inconvenience and slightly uncomfortable being treated as "despicable vacationers" by the local resident. I would not recommend this unit to anyone until all problems are fixed in the complex.
The unit was very dirty and my wife is very sensitive to these things. We killed several spiders the first day there and when we alerted the mgmt company they did nothing.
We were not given a password to the internet network and the management company couldn't help us. There was a cable that we used to connect directly to the router. The small TV was at least 10 years old and only had the most basic cable package with no ESPN, which was a huge disappointment given we were there during college football bowl season. Clearly the owners of this unit are cheap and trying to maximize their income from the unit and not too worried about keeping things updated and nice.
The one positive of this unit was the sleeping arrangements were excellent for our family (we brought some teen and adult kids). Just enough privacy in a small unit. Turtle Bay is a great location for golf, watching the surfing competitions and just hanging out.
Despite the less than expected quality in our lodging, we had a great vacation in Turtle Bay. I guess you get what you pay for. It's all I could find for a last minute Christmas rental. If it was any other time than a Holiday I would have felt I way overpaid for this unit. I wouldn't stay here again nor would I recommend this unit to anyone.
The rules are a bit extreme- We received a letter that the window unit AC should not run 24 hours a day, if it was found that we did "they would enter the room to turn it off" - I mean its summer, the unit was built in the 70's with poor installation so its HOT all day in the unit, if I want to run the AC all day, hey its going to be on all day.
I will say that the reservations process was made easy as it was so confusing at how we would get our keys, but the office staff were really nice. The property manager was very accommodating with our needs and worked hard to meet our expectations.
Would we return, more then likely yes! to the same unit, no.
Two dissatisfied point:
1) The management company absolutely don't answer emails. If you have any doubt or need to something, you have to call them.
2) They told me the reimbursement of security deposit must been done immediately after checkout and 3 days gone by not yet.
