Relax on beautiful Fort Morgan Peninsula in Gulf Shores. This beautiful cottage is furnished with rich calming colors of the tropics that enhance the awesome nature that surrounds you at The Rookery, located 15 miles west of Gulf Shores just past the 6 mile marker. Park right in front of the cottage and no elevators to carry your things up and no long hallways. Just like being at home.
The Rookery offers two saltwater pools (the large pool has a zero entry for the little ones), a hot tub for the adults, a tennis court and a family grilling area. The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge borders the cottages, a real bird watcher's paradise. Easy access to the white, sandy beach is across the street (0.4 miles), no crowds, no high rises, watch for dolphins on their daily swim. Take the ferry over to Dauphin Island and visit Fort Gaines & the Sea Lab Estuary. Explore any of the three marked Bon Secour trails, all within a ten minute drive. Three championship golf courses are located on the Fort Morgan peninsula (Kiva Dunes – 2 miles, Peninsula – 10 miles and Gulf Shores Golf Club – 14 miles). Historic Fort Morgan is less than six miles away. Relax in the rocking chairs located on the screened porch and enjoy your morning coffee or your evening margarita.
The cottage has keyless cypher lock entry and Wi Fi/DSL is included for your convenience. Two queen size beds and one twin day bed with twin trundle. Satellite TV in all rooms, a DVD player, full size washer, dryer, dishwasher and a 911 Emergency phone. There is a 120 square foot outdoor patio, gas grill, landscape lighting, a foot wash and a storage box with various beach and pool items (chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, etc…). Ample parking, bring your boat, the marina is only 4 miles away.
The Rookery is a quiet ONE OF A KIND coastal community. Not a 'party house' but a nice relaxing retreat. Come and make some family memories.
