Perched on a private peninsula, this modernist dwelling was designed by the homeowner alongside renowned Aspen architect, Bill Poss, resulting in a home that is just as spectacular as the land on which it resides. Overlooking a private pond that reflects the surrounding San Juan Mountains, fed by a cascading stream running beneath the Master Suite Bridge through a series of waterfalls, the home embraces the the true beauty of nature.
Bold, yet simplistic, linear architecture creates a gorgeous space that matches the beauty of Telluride, located just ten miles away. Making this drive a carefree experience for our guests, Sunset Ridge comes complete with a driver and cook, both included for eight hours each per day.
Comprised of separate wings connected by a sky bridge, the home offers guests a long list of amenities as well as six beautifully decorated bedroom suites. Upon entering the home, come into a gorgeous entry followed by a well appointed seating area with leather sectional sofa, fireplace and flat screen TV, all looking out over fantastic San Sophia views through the floor to ceiling sliding doors which walk out onto the impressive back patio with fire pit and sofa seating. Just beyond this room, the home opens into an open layout great room, beginning with a state of the art, gourmet kitchen where chefs not only enjoy the best appliances, but the unrivaled views as well. Joining this space to the living area is a sleek dining room featuring impressive art and a dining table with seating for up to ten guests. Two seating configurations and a dual sided fire place enjoy continued floor to ceiling windows, opening up the vaulted ceilings even further into the incredible exteriors beyond. Rounding out this wing of the home is a theater, gaming room, den with pool table, full bar and three king guest suites with private baths in addition to the pilot’s quarters that include a kitchenette and bunk room with four queen size beds.
Within the home’s master wing is a spacious king master suite with supreme sunset vistas, a fireplace with flat screen TV above and en suite bathroom, complete with standalone tub and separate steam shower. The second master boasts a queen size bed, en suite bath and more exquisite views. A gym and a separate indoor hot tub with glass doors which open up to the outside complete the Master wing, the entirety of which overlooks the outdoor cabana with large sectional sofa, dining table for six, gas grill and a second sunken gas fire pit.
With its placement in the prestigious Gray Head development, guests of Sunset Ridge are welcome to all of the neighborhoods amenities. These include use of the homeowners cabin, 16 miles of hiking trails, equestrian trails and guided rides, fly fishing in the stocked trout pond, tennis courts, recreational fields, ice/hockey rink and groomed cross-country skiing/snowshoeing trails. While in town, guests will enjoy utilizing the amenities of Element 52, such as parking, ski lockers, funicular access to the lifts and exercise gym.
