We have been coming to this lake for 40+ years. Fishing is great. The house was not what I was expecting for the price. There were cobwebs all over, a lot in the main entry and kitchen area. The whole back patio was full of cobwebs and just a mess. I vacuumed all the cobwebs and back patio for about 2 hours. The light dixture

Clean and comfortable. Met all of our expectations. Pet friendly. Good communications with host. Would stay again.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Sunset Bay. Our family enjoyed the fishing on Nelson Lake and caught enough fish to have a fish fry on our last night. The cabin was clean and we appreciated the side porch to keep our chairs, floaties, etc. There was plenty of room for trailers and parking, which was great! Kari from the property management was outstanding! The only complaint was that the week went by too fast!

Great location and beautiful area. We really enjoyed our stay on the lake. Could use some new furniture but other than that our stay was great.

My husband and I stayed here for a second time. It's a great location, just far enough away from Hayward that you feel like you're away, but close enough that you can still access services with driving too far. The fishing was good, lots of pan fish (blue Gill and crappie) and large mouth bass. This section of Nelson Lake is away from the resorts, so it's very peaceful. The interior of the house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. A few cooler nights we used the baseboard heaters and it was nice and cozy for sleeping. There were some small items on the exterior (patio door handle, plastic on screened porch windows, etc.) that should have been taken care of, but nothing major. Overall a great spot for a week Up North.

Great fun in below zero weather! XC Skiing on Birkie trail was awesome for classic style but tough for skate-skiing. When the mercury really dipped snowshoeing was the way to go. Sunset over Nelson Lake beautiful & fires in the woodstove very nice. Would be good if the owner tightens up the seal on woodstove door though it doesn't burn so much wood since you must provide your own firewood.

We had a great experience. The cabin is larger than the pictures make it look. Would have preferred a better beach-front to swim, but that did not take away from the great property and location. Great crappie fishing just outside the bay the home is located on. Deck is a great place for watching sunsets and cooking. I would/will go back again.

Love this place and hope to stay here again some time. It's convenient to town. Is located in a very quiet area of the lake. Property is for the most part, very well kept and equipped. Only negative is that the patio screen was off the rails and we weren't able to fix it. Had to put it in place and use the door through the screen room to access the deck. But other than that, the place was perfect.

My husband, daughter and I spent a week here in August. The property is very clean and well maintained and provided everything we needed for relaxing retreat from the outside world. The property description is spot on. It's location on Nelson Lake is beautiful and provides great lake access. This was our first stay on Nelson Lake and this section of the lake was especially quiet. It's far enough from Hayward to feel like an escape, but still close enough to access groceries, bait shop, etc. without having to drive too far. We rented a pontoon boat and the fishing was good. My daughter landed a really nice large mouth bass and we all caught some nice pan fish. We took a day trip up to Lake Superior (about 1.5 hours drive) for some Kayaking near the Apostle Islands. We will definitely stay here again. Everything went smoothly with the management company. We had some questions about the property prior to renting and found them to be very responsive.

Great family time, boating and making s'mores over the campfire. Cabin is private, beautiful lake and has great access to the water.

The home was very clean on our arrival. I was impressed that two of the bedrooms had walk-in closets.The two bathrooms were roomy. Overall we had a good stay on a very nice area of the lake.I would suggest that the owner invest in nicer, sturdier outdoor furniture and chairs.

Very nice home the separate bedrooms with private bathrooms was wonderful.Kitchen was also very was also a nice surprise that we had very good internet.We took my parents who are 80 years old and they really enjoyed themselves.

We were texted regarding a pontoon/kayak week long rental and we were interested in this so my sister returned the text message the same day. There was not any reply to our message. Also, we were unable to keep the glass sliding door open which led to the nice deck outside because the screen door was not securely attached. Other than that, we were satisfied with the rental.

Overall it was an excellent stay. Property is in a great location and in good condition. The refrigerator doesn&#x2019;t work all that great and there is one loose board right off the deck heading to the dock that needs attention before someone falls. Otherwise it was a great week.

Lake Nelson is beautiful and peaceful with great fishing. The location and layout of the cabin was perfect for a two family getaway, but the cleanliness was wanting. Super strong mold odors in bedroom and entryway and the sofas were reeking of I don&#x2019;t know what. It did not dissipate with opening windows. The management staff was friendly and I&#x2019;d use their services again just not for this property.
