We absolutely loved this airbnb - great location, comfortable space, well-appointed, nice amenities, parking, walking distance to food trucks, you name it!

The apartment was clean and comfortable and very close to good places to eat and drink. We walked almost everywhere!

Visited our son in Austin for the 1st time. The rental was convenient to lots of must sees and do’s in Austin. Walking distance to great food and fun photo opps. Very quiet neighborhood. A little too dark at night but felt safe. The fridge and A/C are really loud at night but other than that, it worked out great.

This property is in a great location and is way better than staying in an apartment or hotel. You can park right outside the front door and have plenty of privacy. The place is simple, well decorated, and has all the necessities--including a well stocked Keurig. What I especially enjoyed is the size. The cottage is big enough that we weren't cramped but not excessively big, which made the price point perfect.

The property was exactly as pictured and described. The location was excellent.

Great space to stay while in Austin. In a quiet neighborhood that is convenient to everything. Private entrance with its own parking space is added benefit.

This was a nice place to spend a long weekend. Thoughtfully stocked, well-designed to maximize space, cute decor, and clean. The private parking was a huge plus. That said, we had a few gripes: The rental confirmation process through Turnkey was frustrating. The tub drained slowly and the smoke detector ran out of batteries and started beeping in the middle of the night (twice!). Though Turnkey's customer service was pleasant and responsive, they weren't able to resolve either issue in the time we were there. Finally, the bedframe was extremely squeaky, waking us up every time we turned over. If these issues were resolved, we'd be happy to return next time we're in Austin!

The cottage was very nicely designed and appointed and in a great location. My only complaints are: the mattress lacked support and needs to be replaced, the bed frame is a very low platform that creaks with every turn and the A/C unit on the wall right next to the bed is VERY loud. As a result, sleep was poor. With regards to the housekeeping, the floor needs a more thorough cleaning. There was dust and pebbles under the bed and around the base of the furniture. The place gives a good impression when you walk in but housekeeping needs to do a better job.

As sweet as the place is, I wouldn't stay there again mainly because of the A/C noise and poor mattress.

This was a great place to stay! Parking right next to the door. Extremely walkable to a local library, great restaurants and coffee shops. Bouldin Creek Cafe sells coffee by the bag and they grind it according to your coffee maker. This rental has a French press, a big and a small drip coffee maker AND a Keurig! I used the French press. Well worth it :) Nestled between S. Lamar and 1st St you have so many options for entertainment or just hanging out in the side yard barbecuing. I would definitely recommend this gem!

Great location- central to just about every type of activity in Austin within a 10 minute drive. Good restaurants within walking distance, nice quiet neighborhood feel.

A few things to be aware of: Unit is located in an alleyway, with a one-car driveway that is a tight squeeze even for a sub-compact (mainly due to length of fencing and hardy plants at edges).

Because of climate, lush plant life and vacant lots nearby, LOTS of mosquitoes and other insects outside (some that might follow you in).

Unit gets hot easily, so you'll want to keep the fan and air conditioning going.

Not a lot of visible places to plug things in, only power strip has most outlets used, and most plugs in kitchen are used (bathroom has two available outlets).

TL;DR: Overall a nice stay, but suggest considering other options if you need parking for a large vehicle, have issues with mosquitoes, or need ample outlets.

The location could not have been more perfect. The parking was off the street and felt very safe. We were minutes away from all of the locations we wanted to visit and the property was spotless and serenely quiet. My girlfriend and I got engaged on this Austin excusrsion, and we'll remember this little cottage for the rest of our lives. It was perfect and we loved it, and would jump at the chance to book it again for our next visit.

Home was very clean and just as described. The location is great and the home is perfect for 1-2 people. I would definitely stay there again!

We loved our little cottage in Austin. Would highly recommend. It's in a great location- close to Congress street and great restaurants and shops as well as music venues. This is a great place for 2 for a long weekend or week stay!

This cottage is in a great location, set away from the road, yet within walking distance of all the trendy stores on South Congress and South 1st. Ideal for just one or two nights stay or like me, the whole week. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

We loved a lot about this space. Location, size, décor & amenities were just what the photos depicted. We traveled all over the city, visiting friends & eating at our favorites restaurants, even ventured into the hill country for cool vintage finds to use in our art. After a long day it was great to come back to this special spot, which is easily accessible from every direction. Great food is within in walking - El Chile, Bouldin Cafe & yummy gelato at Dolce Neve. Enjoyed my a.m. coffee in the side yard as the sun arose. The washer/dryer was a plus since we were traveling for 2 weeks. The only issue was finding a pair of dirty underwear in between the sheets! We found another set of sheets in the closet, but that pair was not clean either! I will spare you the dirty details. I sent TurnKey photos & they quickly responded they would bring new sheets first thing in a.m. It was late, so we made do with blankets on hand. At 10am we called & they said not to wait they’d handle it. We left the dirty linens on the floor so they could see the stains. We returned at 6pm to an unopened pkg of new sheets on the bed, dirty linens still on the floor. Outraged, I called again, they seemed very upset we had returned to this. I threw the dirty linens in a pillowcase, placed them outside & began washing the new sheets to use them that night. Not our plans for the evening. A mgr called the next day offering to remove the cleaning fee. I probably should’ve had them reduce the bill but all else was fine & it's minor in the huge scope of life & I didn't want it to ruin my vacation. Extra towels in the closet were damp & moldy smelling so I washed them on a sanitary cycle, thank goodness for the W/D! There’s also mold in the wall along the shower, from a leak inside the wall where there’s even more mold. TurnKey reassured me they’ll correct the issues. I sure hope they do, because it's a great little spot and I'm sure the owners wouldn't appreciate their property being mismanaged.

My friend and I enjoyed how close it was to the shops and restaurants on 1st and Congress. The air conditioner was efficient and didn't take long to cool down the studio. Overall it was a nice stay. The gate getting into it was tricky and difficult to open and close at times, especially in the rain at night. (: As we were leaving we realized we'd finally got the hang of it; so perhaps the lesson is that we should've stayed there for a few more days on vacation.

My wife and I decided on this unit because it was close to everything we wanted to do during our mini-moon. Her only complaint was that she wished the bed was a king size because I moved around way too much and we had to sleep on the edge to keep from waking each other. Also we found out at the end of our stay that the easiest way to pull into the gate was by coming up the long side of the alley. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. The cottage was clean and there are basic cooking supplies in the kitchen. We wish we could've stayed longer! The next time we visit Austin, we will definitely book this cottage again (even with the queen size bed lol)!

My husband & I spent a long weekend at this cute little casita. It had everything we needed and was very well located for walking to SoCo or S Lamar restaurants. The unit was nicely decorated and maintained, with a place to park a single vehicle out front (under a tree - be prepared, it may need a bath afterwards??). We had absolutely no issues with our stay & would not hesitate to rent this spot again thE next time we head to Austin.

Great place for 2 people. Great location. Tons of stuff in walking distance

I absolutely loved this place. New, clean, perfect size, great location. And I loved how I could pull my small sedan right in front of door to cottage & shut the big wooden gate to further "lock" myself in.... great asset for a female traveling alone.

We needed a place to stay for a convention. This was a great spot and very comfortable. A little hard to find at first (spent about 25 mins trying to find the access). The people at Turnkey were super helpful and we finally figured it out. Hopefully the description has been updated.

Location is terrific. Interior finish is very good for short term stay; very clean and well maintained. The entry gate in the alley is very difficult to find the first time and could necessitate calls and assistance. The alley gate is extremely difficult and needs to have working lights. The padlock is very fickle and will require many, many tries before access is gained. The alley gate also is heavy and does require some muscle to operate. The parking spot is extremely tiny. If you rent a full size car, you will NOT be able to access through the alley nor gain access to the parking spot; meaning you will need to park out on the main street (if you can find a spot) and carry your luggage down the alley. Once access through the alley gate is gained, the front door lock just never works. We had to place calls, put on hold, stand outside in driving rain. The alley gate and front door were problems during our entire stay. Now.....all of that being said, great spot, well maintained. Hopefully the landlord can figure out the alley gate and front door...if they did, this place would be perfect. Also, the rental detail should give warning about the inability to access with anything other than a sub-compact car.

Loved the house, perfect getaway for my wife and I. Great location for walkin to shops and restaurants in the area. Everything was provided that we needed.

Only thing I would change is the AC unit was noisy, but probably because the heater hadn't been used often.

Will definitely stay again!!!

This was a very enjoyable and comfortable place to stay. It is in a great location.....very walkable to numerous restaurants and coffee shops. Would definitely stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay at the S. Austin Cottage while I was in town. I liked that it was so close to the action on hS. Congress and Lamar, but was in a quiet neighborhood that felt more like a retreat in the woods. Be prepared on initially arriving it was tucked back in an alley way so give yourself some extra time. But once you find it, it's not a problem!

My wife and I stay five nights in the house 712B, Austin. It's a clean and comfortable house. There are micro waves, washer, dryer, and refrigerator. We enjoy our stay very much. The two restaurants nearby at the corner at Elizabeth street and 1st are very good. Don't miss them when stay at the 712B.
Jilli C. December 22, 2015
exceeded expectations in cleaniliness and amenities by far.

We rented the Gem Cottage for 26th wedding anniversary. What a GEM, it was tucked away you would never know you were so close to restaurants, coffee shops and S Congress. The unit was stocked with everything you need and it was very clean. We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I just want to get away for a bit and found this place on a whim and we were more than pleased! The location is perfect walking distance to all of the REAL nooks and crannies! The place was squeaky clean and the neighborhood was very safe. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and also be able to go out at anytime for some great food and drinks! Thank you turn key!!

This was a wonderful property. It is very convenient to some of our favorite places located downtown. It's perfect for 2 people. The only trouble we had was not having the other lock information but the company helped us out and it was no problem.
