Custom built by local builder Gus Maltby, this “Maltby cabin” combines vintage charm with stylish details -- including exposed wood beams, knotty pine throughout, wood floors, and a natural stone fireplace.
The living area features plenty of seating between a comfy couch and an armchair. Get cozy next to the wood-burning fireplace and watch shows on the 48” TV. There’s also an arcade game and selection of board game classics to enjoy.
KITCHEN & DINING
Whip up hearty meals in the well-appointed kitchen, featuring a full suite of appliances and a cozy breakfast nook.
When you’re ready to eat, gather at the rustic-chic dining table with modern chairs and cushioned bench seating.
A foosball table in the dining area offers post-dinner entertainment.
BED & BATH
This home sleeps four adults and one child.
The first-floor primary bedroom offers a queen bed and warm wood decor. Upstairs, a loft area doubles as a second bedroom with two full-size beds and a 40” TV.
The beautifully remodeled bathroom has a tub/shower combination.
Take an après-ski soak in the private hot tub or lounge with a book in the hammock.
The wraparound deck provides plenty of places to gather. Fire up the gas grill for a cookout and dine alfresco, gaze at the stars through the telescope, roast marshmallows over the gas firepit, or enjoy crisp mountain air under the warmth of propane heaters.
EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS
Complimentary Wi-Fi, five TVs, a washer/dryer, and parking for up to two cars in the parking area in front of the home. Street parking is not permitted.
Although this home is not equipped with central air-conditioning, the loft area features a ceiling fan and portable AC unit.
The City of Big Bear Lake requires a face-to-face check-in with the property manager. The credit card and ID that was used to make the reservation must be present at check-in.
Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. Parties prohibited. No refunds due to eviction for noise disturbances, over-occupancy, or excess vehicles.
Located 1 mile from Bear Mountain and less than 2 miles from Snow Summit, this retreat is a skier’s paradise. If golf is more your speed, you’ll find a 9-hole course at the base of Bear Mountain, set against the backdrop of the San Bernadino Mountains.
For the hikers in your group, check out the Sugarloaf Mountain Trail, which offers stunning views of San Gorgonio, the highest peak in Southern California.
