We booked this condo after days of searching. We didn't a large condo but still wanted all the options of a ocean view patio and washer dryer. This has everything we're looking for.

The property itself was 5 stars! Loved it. It was well maintained, the location was great, and there was plenty of parking. It was fun to hike around the lava rocks on the ocean and to sit and watch the beautiful sunsets, then jump in the Jacuzzi and relax. The unit was also nice. Clean and well stocked with towels, etc. The two downfalls are with the bedding and the A.C. The A.C was in the form of 2 wall units, which were quite loud. They worked fine but had to run pretty constantly while we were in the unit, including at night. We got used to the noise, but would have preferred a quieter unit. The pillows were as cheap as they come, and the bed actually smelled stale and old. The smell was subtle and we got used to it, but could not get used to the pillows. The bed itself was comfortable. Overall, I would consider staying here again, but I would want to bring my own pillows to spare the neck pain.

The condo was fantastic from the moment I walked in to the property which is gorgeous and immaculately maintained. The condo was very clean and it had everything I needed. I would highly recommend this condo.

We stayed 10 days in this condo. The condo itself is a bit dated, but clean and offers everything you need for your stay in Kona. Beach items were provided which is a must for your adventures to nearby beaches and snorkel locations. The property managers were awesome to deal with and responded quickly to any inquiries we had. The grounds of this complex are very nice and very quiet.

Generally very pleasant. Good location and property. Well laid out. Two minor things for the mgmt company vs Airbnb or vrbo experiences; too few consumables for longer stays (tp, paper towel, trash bags, etc) as these are not available in the small quantities needed, and paperwork is way over the top in your rental process.

This was our first trip to Hawaii and our stay at Kona Makai started out with a couple of problems but ended perfectly. When we first arrived we could not get the lockbox open, but after calling Knutson & Associates, we had the problem solved within the hour. The other issue was guests in the unit below who were constantly smoking and filled our unit with smoke. This was also quickly resolved with help from Don, the property manager. Other than that, unit 3203 was perfect; clean, well-stocked with kitchen items, beach gear, towels, linens and had a beautiful view of the ocean from the lanai. We especially loved the gorgeous sunset views each evening while we were grilling our dinner out by the beautiful pool!

It was an amazing location very close to several beaches, outdoor shopping markets, and tons of restaurants! The condo was very clean and had everything we needed for cooking in! The washer and dryer are small but perfect when all you need to wash is your beach stuff!

We had a comfortable stay in this lovely flat and did not miss anything. <br/>We went home completely relaxed and blessed. <br/>Sunset at the barbecue was awesome.

Our experience started on the wrong footing when we first step into the condo. I had to make calls to the manager immediately requesting assistance. The manager was great in responding to our calls. All the issues were remedied by the next day. The unit was very nice with great view of the ocean from the lanai. We ate most of our meals there. The kitchen was a bit tight. Otherwise the rest of the unit was quite comfortable. AC units worked great. Didn't have to run it very long to cool down the entire unit. The water pressure in the shower was good. We enjoyed the condo and the grounds were well kept. Very pleasant stay.

We loved this vacation rental, because it was very quiet situated, had a wonderful garden, was large and well equipped. The management was helpful. But the booking could be done easier, as we experienced in other similar condos: less mails (we got all twice from Knudson and ), some several times, a signment of a rental agreement we had in no other case and this was stressful for us, the download of an extra app we think is not necessary, a mail with the entrance codes one or two days before would be satisfying. <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>

We simply had an amazing stay. The condo itself has got so much to offer. It&#x2019;s vast, clean, filled with amenities and the balcony overlooking the courtyard is a real gem. We could ramble on and on but instead will simply say that we would not hesitate a second to go back. If you choose this unit, you will not be disappointed. Thank you again.

This condo was clean and nicely furnished. The general property is beautiful, with a wonderful seating, bbq, dining, pool area right on the ocean It is not near a beach, but we enjoyed walking on the lava rocks, exploring the tidepools, watching the sunsets and snorkeling just steps away. Of course, watch the ocean conditions. On days when the ocean is not rough, this is some of the best snorkeling on the island.

Quiet, clean, everything you will need, great communication

I was very pleased with my first stay at Kona Makai 3-203. Everything was as described and the instructions for arrival were perfectly described, I had no issues. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the lovely garden view from the deck and the lounge chairs by the ocean. The property is well maintained, good location, gated entry, no complaints. I couldn't see or hear traffic from this unit. I would stay here again for sure.

Very easy and all staff and other residents were awesome. Very helpful and willing to help if necessary.

I loved every minute of our stay at this condo. It is a perfect size for two people. I loved all the homey touches, including the padded chairs, lounge, rocker and especially the stressfree recliner and ottoman. This is a place for relaxing! We ate almost all our meals on the lanai so we could hear and watch the birds and the waves. I am a plant lover and the grounds around this condo are incredibly lush-like a mini botanical garden. And I loved sitting in front of the ocean each evening to watch the sunset. A very enjoyable experience and I would return in a heartbeat if I have the chance.

This was our second time staying in this unit. We returned again because we like the location and the fact that the veranda faces north allowing us to sit in the shade while units across from this one are in the hot sun all day . Everything was in working order and the owner added some new fans which allowed us to stay cool and make the AC unit work better. Will return next year. Thank you.

This property was clean and well maintained. We stayed for 8 days. The kitchen was well stocked and we prepared many of our meals in the unit. The pool and ocean are within a short walk. We enjoyed our stay wit's it's the only exception being the check in process did not go as described by the rental agency. One access key was available in the lockbox as described but personal keys for daily use were not available inside the unit. It took 3 days to resolve this. The response from the rental agency was polite but slow. We finally had keys made ourselves by a local locksmith which wasted vacation time.

Kona Makai is definitely a great value. We were able to walk to town in the morning enjoy the beautifully landscaped Kona Makai Property in the day and enjoy a beautiful sunset with the ocean waves crashing right in front of us while barbecuing our fresh Kona caught fish. We will return!

Great location, quiet

Well maintained garden, very well equipped and a nice ocean view. We definitely recommend it... The only downside, the old shower tap very difficult to operate ...

Reservation is is gated resort.we have no problem to get in at late night. My only complain is water in swimming pool is too Cold. Our unit is clean and loaded all cooking supplies. Check out is easy as directed.

My husband and I recently stayed at 3-203 in the Kona Makai and had a spectacular vacation. The grounds are immaculately kept, the location is superb and it's a very peaceful & tranquil environment. No loud neighbors, lights out earlier so you can get a great sleep. The room has everything you need to feel at home. We loved our stay and would definitely come back.

My husband and I had stayed at Kona Makai 3-203 in June 2012 for a week. There is conveniently located on Alii Drive, but very quiet. We've never heard any traffic.<br/><br/>The room has two lanais. The main lanai was overlooking the ocean and a beautiful garden with tropical landscaping. Having meals at lanai was very relaxing. We listened to the birds singing every morning. <br/>The building is dated, but kept clean well arranged and have good amenities including an electric griddle, rice cooker and a ton of towels. <br/>The pool and jacuzzi seemed newly remodeled which was very nice.<br/><br/>Overall, it was a great stay for the price. we definitely to love to stay Kona Makai again.

the kitchen was well equipted and the entire place was fairly clean,(the dishwasher didnt work ) the unit itself was tired not much has been done to it since the 70,s ,, the building and grounds are kept up well,,

we have stayed in the same condo for five years, when it was not available in 2012 we check with knutson and found great deal on a great condo. Knutson will our first choice in the future!

This unit was nicely decorated with comfortable seating. The two decks were useful. Lots of supplies, cards, puzzles, books, snorkel gear and the like we're provided.

Took a little while to get wi-fi key and cleanliness wasn't perfect (although I have VERY high standards). Overall, we thought this was very good value for money and we would recommend to others.

We stayed at Kona Makai one week and we found all what we need. The place is great. We could enjoy a beautiful pool and fantastic sunset view. <br/>There were no any sounds besides birds' songs and murmur of the surf. <br/>All condo area looks as a tropical botanical garden.

Kona Makai is a nice, quiet complex... nothing exceptional, but in a good location on the water, not far from town, not far from the beaches. The unit itself was clean and comfortable, and the people at Knutson were friendly and helpful. All in all, a good experience.

Love the resort (fabulous grounds), loved the unit - not great ocean view, but not bad, and good overall location. Kitchen better equipped than many. Knutson got us a great deal and dealt quickly with some appliance repairs.

Really hard to find building at midnight in the dark. Very little lighting and the numbers on the door needs to be larger (not a quarter of an inch high)

We enjoyed staying at Kona Makai 3-203! It was full of all the amenities that you would need and then some!

We really enjoyed unit 3-203. The size was larger than other vacation rentals in our past, with a very spacious lanai - rather than a narrow balcony. The grounds are spotless and the birds were plenty. Loved their songs.

Beautiful landscaped grounds and pool area at this condo complex but the unit is showing it’s age and we had a few problems. We were provided with an incorrect wifi password which made communication difficult since we are from out-of country so had roaming turned off our phones. That was corrected, but we then had problem when electrical outlet shorted out so TV and wifi weren’t working. There was also a problem with dishwasher and we found the air conditioners noisy so sleep was difficult plus the sliding doors to lanai were on rusty tracks so difficult to open. All of these items could have been overlooked if we hadn’t been charged the inflated rates for Ironman week, but at those rates we expected better.

This Rental is well equipped,everything is just like the pictures show. Also there are Tommy Bahama beach chairs and a very good quality boogie board.<br/>Great location short drive to restaurants and shopping. Short drive to Magic sands beach and Kahalu‘u Bay. Magic Sands is great for swimming and boogie boarding, Kahalu‘u Bay is a great snorkeling spot especially for beginners.<br/>We also snorkeled right there at the condo, its a little tricky getting in and out of the water there, but there were tons of fish and we saw a couple turtles, we were there in late june and water was calm, don't try it if there are big waves. <br/>Grounds around the complex are clean and well maintained, parking was easy and they had wagons for you to put your luggage in to get it the stairs leading to the condo.<br/>I enjoyed going out in the mornings and running down the coast along Alli drive,you can run south for several miles, if you like running.<br/>Room temperature was fine for us a/c was adequate. <br/>We would stay here again !
