We were very happy with the place. We always stay at one of the ground level condos when we visit every other year. The place is starting to show its age but overall in good shape. We would stay here again.

My husband and I have just returned from 10 nights in this unit. The location and view are amazing. The complex grounds and pool very nice and well maintained. We had a few issues upon check in that were resolved very quickly by Blake, our realtor in charge, he went out of his way on the weekend to go above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy, I can’t say enough about his personal customer service to us. Unit clean, new towels, well stocked kitchen. And brand new comfortable bed which was lovely. I gave 4 stars to the general condition because there is no air conditioning in this unit and it would get very hot and uncomfortable in the afternoons, even with the provided fans going full blast, also carpets could be replaced with wood or tile for more comfort but all in all I would stay in this unit again and I most definitely recommend Knutson and Associates for their excellent customer care. Thank you Blake!

The Kona Isle is an older but very wel kept facility. The grounds and Pool are well laid out.Unit D$ has an ocean view but needs some serious attention, particularly the beds. The old matresses on both the bed and sofabed have been supplemented with foam which has perished due to age. We opted to sleep on the sofa itself and on the floor. A simple but extensive reno is needed to get this unit in order.

Upon arrival of the property I was initially thinking it was going to be a horrible experience. We checked in and went to the condo to discover that the beds were awful, especially the hide-a-bed. My guest was unable to sleep on it and rather than sleeping on the pull-out she slept on the couch itself as it was far more comfortable. The bed itself was not much better and the condo is old and dated. Even though it was clean it looked uninviting due to the age of the flooring, appliances and amenities.

However, on the upside... the view from the lanai is spectacular. Basically you are steps from the ocean and pool and you are lulled to sleep listening to the ocean crash against the rocks at night; which I found was soothing. One of the highlights was having morning coffee watching dolphins swim from the lanai and another was enjoying lounging in there beach area watching fish swim.

On another plus side, the building itself is very well maintained. The maintenance person on site keeps the property pristine; pool and BBQ area are immaculate... you could probably eat of the paved parking lot it is so clean.

The location is quiet and the other guest who stayed agreed that they were quite happy with the location as well. It is a close to Kona and only a short drive to two very nice beaches one excellent for boogie boarding or surfing and the other for snorkeling and surfing.

When I plan my next vacation I am certain that I will most likely consider this condo before I look at others primarily because of the location, price, view and because I felt like the property was kept up well. I also feel that the maintenance person on staff was knowledgeable of the area and willing/able to try to assist with concerns immediately and any questions we had about the area.

We had stayed at Kona Isle previously in a wonderful unit owned by an individual and managed by another company. We love the complex, staff on site and everything about the place, so we decided to book an extra special unit this time with an ocean view. The unit itself was like staying in a 3 Star hotel - a great price, but not well cared for. Waking up for breakfast on the lanai was nice, but the tablecloth provided could use replacement and the screen door was broken when we arrived. We were provided with two towels and two washcloths for our 2 week trip and the bed comforter and throw pillows, curtains, etc. were covered with grime and dust from the fan (all light fixtures, fans, bathroom fan could use a good cleaning). There were about 8 snorkel masks for us, but no flippers and only 2 snorkels. I was sent several automated emails by the company, but when I wrote an email at the end of our trip, I never received a response. We have friends who are also staying a unit managed by Knutson, but not owned by them, and their experience has been stellar. My advice? Find a unit that is owned by a person rather than one owned by this company and ask for recent photos.

This unit has so much untapped potential. However, it was not clean inside. We were told that the unit had been cleaned but my wife spent about 3 hours re-cleaning. The unit has no dishwasher or air conditioner. There was literally only one wash cloth. We had stayed in another unit of Kona Isle in the past that was so much nicer. This unit was very disappointing.

I'm so happy we decided to give D4 a shot. We rented multiple units with Knutsons in the past, and D4 met all of our needs.
It was definitely clean, and had a fabulous view. Very quiet and peaceful listening to the ocean from our living room. The location was more than perfect. We will be telling our friends and family. Well priced too.

Hot, very hot no air conditioner but the fans helped a little. There was garbage left on the counter, food in the refrigerator, clothes in the dryer and in the dressers, and a nice supply of condoms by the bed. The electric outlets are worn out and we had a hard time using them.

We loved our stay. It was exactly as described to us over the phone. It was close to all restaurants and activities but also far enough away to be relaxing. The only sour note is that the condo itself had a foul cleaning smell to it when we arrived that went away when we opened up all of the windows and also there were a lot of dead cockroaches on the floor under the headboard of the sleeper couch. These two things were the only minor drawbacks. Other than that it was perfect for us!

We truly enjoyed our time at Kona Isle unit D4. Right on the ocean shore, the grounds were maticulous, fabulous BBQ and picnic area and extremely quite.
The unit was small but well furnished. We preferred to stay home and have dinner on the lanai and watch the sunset than to go out. We had the best view in town. We were there for one month.

Great unit in great location. Thanks to Blake for making it happen.

Awesome location, quite with beautiful ocean views. Enjoyed 7 weeks at this lovely location, unit is sufficiently stocked and perfect for a couple with sleeper couch for guests if desired. Adjacent pool is great for a quick dip or just lying in the sun. We loved our time here and will be back.

However, the unit needs much cleaning and updating. The curtains in the living area had mold. cushions on the patio chairs were torn. The bathroom smelled. I had to notify the property manager that there was no hair dryer. I hope they fix these problems because of the wonderful location.

Everyone was happy at Kona Isle. Brian, the caretaker was thoughful and very considerate. He kept the grounds and pool in great shape and could not do enough to make sure everything was wonderful. I will be back.

The troical grounds and sunning beach of Kona Isle gives you a real sense of being in Hawaii without having to go the tourist stops.

The appartment was very well furnished and comfortable.

The electricity in our condo did not work, so we were unable to stay. Although I would like to thank you a for getting us to a condo that worked. I really appreciate how efficient you were. The condo we did stayed at in Kona Isle was very nice.

Looks OK but after a while you see the Dry rot, doors that fall off, and good luck finding an outlet that works, bring an extension cord!!! And if you are planning to sleep on the pull out- do yourself a favor and sleep on the floor with the bugs. The matress is old and really thin so you get the pleasure of feeling every support bar. But view is great if you dont mind no AC!

The ground floor unit was an easy place for my 92year old mother to get around. The crashing waves were a joy; so were the killer sunsets! A terrific experience. The grounds are impeccably maintained and people are friendly. Only one downside: the unit's hair dryer wa s missing, so I had to borrow, then buy one. The management company offered to reimburse me.

This is the third or fourth time we have stayed here. We love the location and the unit. Although the microwave had to be replaced, the unit was in otherwise excellent, if getting a bit shabby in the carpet, etc. There was a problem with the blinds in the front room and bedroom...we were charged for having 3 people stay there and for the first 4 nights of our stay the front room blinds wold not close completely, leaving us exposed to people walking back and forth from the barbecue/picnic area. In addition, the bedroom needed beach bamboo mats hung to protect our privacy, making it difficult to have the fresh air from the breezes flow through the bedroom. During the second four nights of our stay the blind problems were fixed. I would appreciate some adjustment for paying for the additional person in the condo for the first four nights when the unit was not prepared for it.

This condo overall is a fine but the cleaning service needs to be fired.
We have rented this unit three times in the past year and each time it was very dirty.
Upon check in the bathroom had not been cleaned with urine dripping from the toilet, toothpaste dried on the facet and the floor had hair and dirt every where. The microwave had dried for splattered all over the inside. Our last stay the cleaner had to re lean the unit it was so bad. This is not the owner fault. Shame on the rental agency. Will not rent this one again.

As we walked in it was evident the unit was in terrible condition. The carpet is stained to the point you don’t want to take off your shoes. The unit is marketed to sleep 4, but there aren’t enough beds! The mattress on the pull out sofa is disintegrated and disgusting. The property manager’s solution was a blow up mattress for the filthy floor. We didn’t travel all that way to Hawaii and pay good money to be offered a blowup mattress on a filthy floor! When we expressed our dissatisfaction with this solution we were told that he wouldn’t get a mattress for at least a week. After more protesting amazingly a mattress did show up. Since the sofa was broken the mattress didn’t provide any support. The light switches are stained by years of grime. Several outlets didn’t work so there were extension cords everywhere. In the living room an outlet is taped to the wall by blue painter’s tape! When the maintenance man came to fix it, his solution was to paint the blue painter’s tape white! The furniture is so dirty that it feels greasy. We had to put towels on the furniture just to sit down. The whicker bedroom furniture has years of dust and dirt in it. It is quite awful. The closets are packed with junk that there was not anyplace to hang clothes. The blinds in the bedroom have layers of dust clinging to them. The windows are held onto the wall by painter’s tape. The window ledge in the living room is decaying so the wood and paint flake onto the floor. The small patio is covered in carpet that has grass growing through it! Nick, the property manager, continued to put us off placing the blame on housekeeping and the owner. He wouldn’t return calls resulting in staying longer then we should have. Subjecting our family to the unsanitary conditions and dealing with an irresponsible property manager wasn’t the way to spend our time in Hawaii. BEWARE, if Nick tells you this has been addressed you should know he actually stated the unit was just fine…

Nice location, with surf crashing outside.
Very nice pool with few people actually in it.
Condo was fine, but could use some new shower, window and door fixtures, as well as some decent pillows. Clean but with dust in wicker furniture; glassware and cups needing better washing.
