Our family of 8 had a great 2 night stay for Mother's Day Weekend at Janie's at Crystal Beach/Port Bolivar Texas. EVERYTHING about the location of Jamie's was just perfect. Cabin was clean and well kept inside and out. You can';t get a better view of the beach, than at Janie's on the top floor deck. We rented JANIE';S last year , and we would rent Janie's again.
Property condition was "dated". Upstairs bath didn't operate properly; dishwasher didn't operate properly; doors were difficult to open and shut. Outdoor furnishings were old and below average. Home location, size is great. We really enjoy our annual trip to Crystal Beach but expected the house to be a bit nicer.
Love the house and location. House seemed a little under stocked with the items needed to prepare meals. Pots, pans, and utensils were a little scarce?
Wonderful time
As always, Janie's provided the perfect environment for our vacation. Always spotless, we enjoy its proximity to the beach. Close to restaurants, the Big Store, and it's a quieter portion of the beach. Already looking at dates for the next trip. Cobb always goes above and beyond to make arranging the details easy.
Perfect location. House was immaculate. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and being so close to the beach. Will definitely stay here again.
We loved the house and had a great time. Kitchen needs to be better stocked. They need a pizza cutter, pizza pan for sure. Down stairs is pretty nasty with lots of bird poop so we felt like it could have been cleaner down there. Over all we loved the cabin and would rent again. Renting thru Cobb was a great experience and super nice people. Thank y'all!! Oh and and the location was wonderful!

Enjoyed our Thanksgiving Holiday at this cabin, Everything was nice and clean! My boys didn't want too leave..
This house is beautiful, clean and roomy. We had 4 adults, 6 kids, a small dog and we never felt crowded. The location and view is perfect and the beds were very comfortable. The only problem we had was when the microwave stopped working and someone from Cobb was out in less than 20 minutes with a replacement. We will definitely rent this house again.
Great house and superb location. Had only to issues: 2) Coffee maker stop working 2) upstairs a/c thermostat was working very erratically. Everything else was fine and we had a wonderful week at the beach with our family. The long dining table was great for feeding the group and playing board games at night. I would definitely recommend this house to my friends.
The Beach Home was great. The only thing that I would suggest is that you add ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms.

We chose this property because of its beachside location and pets were allowed. Although our pets didn't travel with us this year, the house and its location were fantastic. The only problem is their central ac wasn't functioning properly. Luckily the winds from the ocean and open doors and windows made the temperature bearable but then we had to deal with the noise of other homes & beach goers radios, smells of smoke from fires on the beach or other vacationers grilling and such. And couldn't very well leave the doors and windows open when we left the house. The rental company, Cobb, when I called and did send out an electrician and ac repairman within an hour and on Good Friday, the problem was not resolved to where the ac would cool the house. And when I called Cobb again on their after hours phone number, the lady who answered was quite rude, explaining that they sent someone out, what else did I want. Well, I want, when I pay that much for a rental, to be able to sleep at night in an air conditioned home. <br/>Cobbs other customer service is great. Great reusable grocery bag at check in with goodies. DVD rental card (like a redbox) for free DVD rentals when you stay with Cobb. But the AC not functning properly was a HUGE deal for me. The house is as it is described, plenty of beds and space. Great beach location. Pet friendly.
I was not informed of the fact that "Janies" had no verizon internet or phone coverage in that particular spot. This was quite a problem for me as I had to take a golf cart about 200 yards down the beach to make and recieve calls. Other than that I loved the place! Really! I would rent it again next year without hesitation..except for the internet problem. Therefore, I will not rent "Janies" again. It's a shame, it's just a few hundred yards from coverage.

The house is missing some things that would take it from okay to good. Simple things like decent pillows and extra blankets for winter visitors. Also could use a little maintenance.
We loved the house. It was very spacious and accommodating for our group. Loved that beach access was very close to the house. <br/><br/>I wished we would have prepared for ants. Apparently, everyone was having issues with them as friends and family who own homes close by had the same problem. The only other issue but minimal was ceiling fan in master bedroom didn't work. Luckily a small fan in the closet worked well for a quick fix.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 8. Beautiful home in a great location. Only 2 complaints. No WiFi. I needed this badly to be able to work. The other was the mesquito's. It was almost unbearable. Not sure what Cobb can do about that, but it was definitely an issue.
Overall experience was great. Property management company was exceptional. had an emergency with one of our pets and had to head to head out right after returning from grocery store and agent went to house and put up groceries for us
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Janie's The home is very nice and comfortable. The view is fantastic. We would highly recommend this home. Thanks to Cobb Realty for making our vacation stay pleasant.
After losing our brother unexpectedly in Aug my sisters and I decided to have Thanksgiving with our families away from Houston. Our time at Janie's was very relaxing and much needed. We were all very well pleased and happy with our selection. This location is strongly recommended.
Really liked the property. Office handled everything extremely well - no hiccups!!
The house was great. Great location, and great layout. <br/>But, I'm not sure who wrote the description of the house.... but the kitchen was lacking in a lot of areas. There were more wine glasses than forks. And for a house that slept 12, the kitchen was definitely lackluster. We had to cook eggs in batches... no large pans. We also had to go to the 'big store' to buy a cheese grater, and potato peeler. When the kitchen is described as "Fully stocked kitchen will please even the most discriminating cook"... I expect pans and larger skillets to cook in. <br/>Other than that, no other complaints. The beds were super comfy... (although the kids said the pull out beds were "springy", but that's to be expected in a pull out couch.)<br/>There was lots of lounging space outside, which we used a lot. Will probably rent this same house next year. (but will bring extra forks!)
The ladies at Cobb are amazing. The house was clean and beautiful. Perfect spot, right on the beach. Plenty of room for our large family with children.
We liked Janie's and all of the space just a little disappointed in the kitchen. There was not enough pots and pans to cook for even 10 ppl. There were 5 forks in the whole kitchen. We had to go buy more. Also we did not have a big pot, no cutting board, skillets were thin and flat. Couldn't really fix meals. We were also disappointed in the living room furniture. It only seated 5 for a house that sleeps 12. We also arrived and were shocked the floors weren't clean in the house. Based on the amount of money we paid to rent the house it was upsetting the conditions and amenities.
First experience with renting a house. I think it went really well and the house was amazing! Great location and price was great as well! Really should include the Cargo lift in rental though as there are so many stairs.
