When traveling to Tahoe in the winter be prepared for winter driving, possible road closures and delays in snow removal. You are booking a trip to the mountains so come prepared.
Our snow removal crews work every day, but we have no control over the county road snowplows that clear the roads.
This street is a primary plow so is done earlier than many others.
4WD and or chains are always recommended. If you come in a small, low-profile vehicle you may have difficulties.
Tahoe has experiences frequent power outages during snow, rain, wind events. We provide lanterns, but sometimes they disappear (or batteries) Golden Bear Trail is a primary plow road.
Reviews
Our first trip to Lake Tahoe. The house was very beautiful, clean, comfortable and cozy. We loved that it came with all the amenities that it had in the kitchen and the extra blankets for the cooler evenings. As city folks, we were searching up and down for the a/c, however found out that just about none of the houses there have them because it normally has a nice wonderful breeze. It was unfortunate that we visited during the terrible wildfires, but when we do go back we would most definitely stay at the Golden Bear again!
We stayed here for 4 days while in town for a wedding. It was perfect for our two households because together we had 6 kids with us and all under the age of 6. The bunk beds meant kids could all sleep together and the downstairs family area was their hub! Lots of games and puzzles to keep them busy while we got ourselves fancy for the wedding. The kitchen was very well stocked and had everything we needed for the large meals we were making. Hot tub was also a hit!
Great property, location, amenities, comfort, and large fenced in yard for my dogs. Check in and getting to the property was easy. This property is one of the over properties I have rented in Tahoe. Very clean and spacious. I would definitely stay there again. And for those who choose to rent and bring dogs. Clean up your dog's mess so you don't ruin this for us responsible dog owners.
What a wonderful retreat - close to everything (Heavenly, restaurants, cafes, grocery) but yet serene. The house is well stocked and very clean. Beds were comfortable and the kids loved the bunk beds! We were excited to find a lot of board games as well. We will definitely return in the very near future!
