We had a wonderful time. The lake is beautiful and the bay provides a peaceful, quiet space to unwind - plus the view is amazing. The walk down to the lake is short with just a few steps. The sand frontage is shallow and would be great for little kids. Teal Lake is a quiet lake which means there are no jet skis or water skiing on the lake. It's perfect for fishing and swimming off the pontoon. We loved it!! For August rhe fishing was pretty good. We caught a 40 inch musky off the pier and across the lake we caught northern, bass and pan fish. The house was well stocked with dishes and games. Ths kitchen appliances are high quality. The house had plenty of space for the 6 of us to spread out. Loved having 1 sitting space with a TV and 1 without. The master suite is very nice with a gorgeous view of the lake. The kids loved the bunk beds. The other 2 rooms have queen beds and were a bit small, but since we just slept in there they were ok. Overall, a great place to stay.

The pictures don't do justice to how nice Butler Bay is. The house is wonderful. Changed some since the pictures. It is huge and nicely decorated. They also provide so much in the cooking area. We had 6 adults and 5 children and had space to spread out. There is a cabin next door but is owned by the the brother and his wife who were very nice and helpful. They left on Sunday leaving only us in the bay. The beach is far better then the pictures show. We saw lots of wild life. Everyone agreed that they'd come back again.

This is our second stay here. We love the house and location. Quiet, large beach area to play, kids love fishing off the docks. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your needs! Plenty of wildlife around. 22 minute drive from Hayward shopping. The house wasn't nearly as clean as it was last year. We had to vacuum and clean as soon as we got there. Kind of disappointing, literally sand everywhere! We absolutely left it cleaner than when we arrived! Hopefully the cleaning service steps up their game soon! With that being said, I would still rent this house for a third time. It's just overall great for my large family!

The cabin was beautiful and well taken care of. We had plenty of dishes and cooking items for our party of 6. The furniture and beds were all very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to have Wifi available and there is a phone in the cabin if you want to bring a calling card. The television in the back room was not working for us. I'm not sure what the problem was with that. There is no fish cleaning house on the property so you have to clean outside before the mosquitoes get you. Also there were geese at the shoreline so the beach area was full of goose excrement. The beach area is not great for swimming but we were not that interested in that. There is a brand new pier and bench at the end which my husband was happy to see. The area is peaceful and quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Our large family had the best time! Definitely off the beaten path, very long lane. We were the only ones in the area at the time of our stay. Very quiet and peaceful. The beach area was perfect for our kids and family to hang out and play. There is a big sand area to play in that isn't currently pictured. The dock also has a bench on it now and another add on which was great for the kids to fish off the end for blue gills. The fishing in the lake is pretty good once you figure out the spots. The house has a fully stocked kitchen. Everything one would need. The bedrooms were all good too, comfortable sleeping! Plenty of room for everyone to be together in the family rooms. The deck area was great too! Would definitely recommend for a family get a way!

It was very clean, and nice and relaxing! Very fun lake to fish on!

Cookware (pots and pans) were disgusting. Owner needs to replace them with newer items. Couldn't nor wouldn't use them which made cooking an issue. Also, the beach area could use a little cleaning to make it more usable.

Location, perfect. Management company, professional and responsive. Peace and quiet, superb. Comfortable furniture...get some new couches and beds. I would visit again even if you didnt but you still should.

Location was excellent - most beautiful lake and island off the back - couldn't be more pretty. Just a bit far (almost 20 miles) out of Hayward) but standable. Cabin was in OK shape - needs some TLC (as in the couch cushioning is non-existent) and one of the beds didn't have a sheet put on. Garbage dumpster was overflowing and we actually did see a black bear on the drive out of Hayward - so we kept an eye on our grandkids. Communication with mgmt company could be a bit better - sent 2 emails with questions and left one voicemail and none were responded to. All in all we would stay again.

Birch lake Lodge is a great place to stay. Just a few steps down the yard n you are on the private dock. Teal lake is great for kayaking and there are state islands to explore. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The only issue was the dumpster was plum full and was beginning to smell.. luckily the smell didn't start til our lastnight. The dumpster is a short distance from the cabin, so for the smell to reach the had to be pretty bad,but with 100 degree weather n fish remains,that can be expected. Maybe a extra pick up during the hot hot weather.

We have rented the Birch Bark Lodge for the past few years now and for the most part all has been good. Names for renting the week have been under Dean Garman or Tim Johnston. This year was far from sufficient. <br/>- The front door was pulled out from the casing when we arrived and did not open or close as it should.<br/>- The sliding screen door did not slide properly. We did get it working but it needs attention.<br/>- The grill that we requested last year now has a piece missing in the back. LP tanks empty or very low. We used the grill from the next door rental. A charcoal Weber grill would be nice.<br/>- One of the showers needs attention. We replaced the shower head. We have a plumber in the group. <br/>- Disappointed in the TV channel selections being reduced from previous years.<br/>- CO2 detector was going off when we arrived. Replaced batteries but it continued to beep. Needs to be replaced.<br/>- Grass was very long, needs cutting.<br/>The lodge is in a great location but needs a little TLC. I checked the "recommend this property to a friend" as no. There are other properties at this rental cost that would be better after what we encountered this year. I hope that the TLC needed happens as we like the location and will continue our week each year, but..................?

Delightful. The management company is very professional and responsive. Great service and good business. We will be back.
