we had a very good time and enjoyed ourselves. I had to kill a cockroach in the second bathroom. need to address bug problem. also there should be a chopping board in the kitchen. direct TV sucks.

we had a great experience at 201 Ruby

In general, this little beach house met our needs. It was immaculate, which I appreciated. It was also sufficiently equipped. But it was bare bones. The kitchen was very small and I had a hard time finding things because it was so dark in the cupboards and they were so hard to access. The television is basic only. And given we were there during college bowl season, the lack of ESPN was an issue for a member of our family. Given the expense per night, a larger selection of channels is assumed. There was a maintenance issue with the heater when we arrived, but the property management firm handled it promptly and professionally. It ended up having minimal impact on our stay. The property is well-located on Balboa island. A few blocks from downtown. A few blocks from the ferry. We did appreciate this aspect of it. We would recommend this property with the caveats noted above.

The property was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, it had a great location near the marina and downtown. My family really enjoyed our stay there! We will definitely be back.

Good location.

Our stay at the Ruby bungalow was fantastic. We stayed during a holiday and we were especially happy with how well the kitchen was equipped. During the week we were there the property management dropped off even more items for our use as it was a holiday week. Having plenty of space for our family was wonderful. The place was clean and well maintained. Instructions and communication from the management company was excellent and much appreciated. We will be booking this home again soon.

We enjoyed staying at this well-located, comfortable property. It's a short walk to the boardwalk which encircles Balboa Island and also a short walk to Marine Avenue where most of the island's stores and restaurants are located.

Very enjoyable

Loved this small cottage located on Balboa Island! Close to the water where we paddle boarded and shops. We enjoyed biking and dining at the restaurants and just walking the boardwalk. We will be back!

We loved the house, the location was perfect - could walk to "town" and to the ferry easily. The house was clean and comfortable with lots of character. It was nice to have a garage to keep all our beach gear.

Being new at this, I ran into a couple problems but the staff was very helpful and on the bowl even own a New Year's holiday weekend. I grew to love the cottage over the 10 days I was there, especially after discovering wear the pants were stored and where the dishes were. The location is great.

This cottage was cute and comfortable. However there were some aspects that were not satisfactory. Some kitchen items were missing or broken, windows needed cleaning. Unable to use the barbecue as it needed a good cleaning.<br/>We felt that the place needed updating and newer furnishings. Zabrina was very helpful and gracious and took care of our requests promptly. Traffic on Park was constant and some times annoying. I would not request this location again.<br/>

Very cute house, great location. For what we paid I was hoping for nicer sheets, pillows towels and a few other things. There was a very large stain on one of the comforters. : 0 Which is not to be expected when you are paying what we did.<br/><br/><br/>Spending

Very quaint bungalow but needs some upgrades in the bathrooms with the fixtures. Also needs a ceiling fan in living room ceiling The house was sealed up tight when we arrived and was very musty. We had to buy many room fresheners to make it livable the first day

Over all good, windows need washing.

The location was perfect, we only needed to use our vehicle once to go to dinner off the island. The bed were comfortable and the bathrooms great. The outside sitting area was perfect for us.

I spent a lot of time on Balboa as a kid so it was great to be on the island again in this fabulous classic cottage, it brought me right back to those wonderful times.

The property was advertised on AirBNB. According to the sight there was only a pin marked to indicate location. Only after the booking process was an address provided and the location was different. The property is located on a corner lot with traffic noise a factor. Also, a large home was under construction across the street, adding to noise level. There was also an infestation of flies and cockroaches. A fix it form was submitted to property manager with no response. Of my many years of if renting on the island, this was my least enjoyable.

Everything was perfect. Loved the cottage. Every thing was clean, well equipped, easy to get anywhere up and down the coast and to the Balboa ferry. Sweet. Staff so helpful, any time I emailed, I received a timely response. Loved it all!

We really enjoyed our stay at 201 Ruby! The home is in a great location, easy to walk to Marine Ave as well as Ruby Beach! It was the perfect place for our family of 4 to spend a long weekend!

Had a lovely stay at this cozy cottage. Rented for a joint family vacation and company retreat and it worked perfectly on both fronts. Would definitely return.

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday on Balboa. Sitting outside enjoying morning coffee, and wine at night was enjoyable. The cottage was in a perfect location to walk anywhere; stores, restaurants, beach. TV, basic cable and apps, did not work in all locations; i.e. living room. Feeling the breeze and having all the windows open was enjoyable. Just an FYI,the cottage is in the direct take-off flight path of John Wayne Airport. You do hear the jets constantly during the day.

We were looking for a family friendly, affordable cottage for a family get together and this fit the bill. It is cozy. It was clean and the tiny kitchen was well stocked. The garage and laundry facilities were a plus as was the keyless entry. We found street parking as well. The property management people were responsive. The only reason I give it a 4 star rating is that the lighting was very dim so it was difficult to read in the cottage which I love to do on vacation. Because it was Christmas week, I didn't think to call the property manager about this but she indicated that they would have provided better lighting if they had been informed...and that is customer service.

This little cottage is in the perfect spot on Balboa island and so so charming! It was clean, cozy and comfortable. We walked everywhere on the island and we loved feeling like 'one of the locals' in the neighborhood. Easy access to Newport, Fashion Island, shopping, restaurants and yet so quiet and quaint. Loved it!<br/>
