Cancellation & Modification Procedures

We’re sorry your plans have changed and happy to help you cancel or change your reservation as easily as possible. Please review this information before contacting RedAwning to help you determine which policies apply to your reservation and provide you with the steps you need to take. For most cancellation and modification requests, you will need to proceed to the website or marketplace where you originally booked your stay.

Cancellations can be done directly online by you, easily.  Please note that we must follow the cancellation policy in the rental agreement you accepted upon booking.  RedAwning works with a large number of rental partners, each with their own cancellation procedures and policies.  Please check the cancellation policy which applies to your reservation, which is usually in your email booking confirmation. Please note that any change to a confirmed reservation is subject to a $75.00 change fee to cover administrative costs.

Airbnb

How to Cancel with Airbnb

You can cancel a reservation any time before or during your trip. To cancel a reservation:

  1. Go to Trips and find the trip you want to cancel
  2. Click or tap Show trip details
  3. From the overview, click or tap Show details
  4. Click or tap Change or cancel

You’ll be taken to a new page where you can choose to either change or cancel your reservation. If you choose Cancel, you’ll be taken through the cancellation process, where you can find your options, including how much your refund will be, and review your cancellation before you submit it.

How it works
If you cancel, your refund is determined by each property’s cancellation policy. Airbnb will show your refund breakdown before you confirm your cancellation. Any refunds of Airbnb service fees are usually in the form of a coupon.

 

Booking.com

How to Cancel With Booking.com
Cancelling with Booking.com is relatively easy. Simply go to your.booking.com to log in.  Enter your confirmation number and pin code (included in your Booking.com confirmation email). You’ll then have various options. You want to look for the “cancel” option.

How it works
When you book a room on Booking.com, you get a confirmation email. In this letter, you have a button to “Cancel Booking”.
Click the button and you will get to the page with the details of the booking. At the bottom of the page, you will see the red button “Cancel Booking”. Click it and voila – the booking is canceled.

  1. Pay attention to the information below the red button. It specifies the period of booking cancellation.
  2. You can cancel the booking for free only if you selected a property with this option in advance.
  3. Free cancellation options are set based on the number of days before the date of check-in. Be sure to check your reservation for the policy based on your cancellation timing.

VRBO / HomeAway

How to Cancel with VRBO

How it works

  1. Log in to your traveler account.
  2. Click My Trips.
  3. Select the reservation you want to cancel.
  4. From the Details tab, click Manage your booking.
  5. Review the owner’s cancellation policy.
  6. Click Cancel booking.

Request a cancellation
If you follow the steps above and see “Request cancellation”, RedAwning will need to process your cancellation after you submit your request.

  1. Sign in and go to My Trips
  2. Choose the booking you wish to change or cancel.
  3. Select Change or Cancel.

Hotels.com

How to Cancel with Hotels.com

  1. Go to your bookings. Or find your booking, if you forgot to sign in first.
  2. Choose Cancel booking and follow the instructions.

TripAdvisor

How to Cancel with TripAdvisor
Go to your rental inbox and open the payment receipt for the booking.

If you want to make a change to your booking, including editing dates or number of guests, you don’t have to cancel. Contact RedAwning with your request by sending us a message via the TripAdvisor message dashboard.

Before cancelling your booking, please read the Cancellation policy, which outlines the cancellation conditions. You will be shown the cancellation timeline for your booking and if you will be due a refund. By cancelling, you agree to the conditions of the cancellation policy, which you can also view in the booking receipt.
