Sunset Beach is five miles south for the Bird Island Reserve walk to the Kindred Spirit mailbox; Ocean Isle Beach is 12 miles east; and the seven Calabash-style seafood houses on River Road serve through 9 PM Sunday for the post-golf dinner that everyone books their Calabash week around.
